Time to change

I wanted to share some news about changes that will be taking place in the very near future. After much thought, I have decided to close my little Naperville shop at the end of this month and that's a good thing. ;)

I had such a great time dreaming it up and bringing my vision to life. I also enjoyed getting to know all of The Beat of My Art customers and sharing the incredible creations from local artist's that were showcased in the shop. It's a joy to help out my fellow artists. My hope is that they continue to have tremendous success.

Being next to the train station, gave me the opportunity to meet wonderful people from every corner of the country and different parts of the globe. Two of my most interesting customers were a couple of Russian gentlemen who came to my shop over the summer. They inspected every corner of the shop and gazed at all the art with child-like awe. It was so incredibly endearing. These two guys spoke very little English and communicated mostly through facial expressions and body language, which I found to be extremely enjoyable and entertaining. In fact, it was so enjoyable, that I ended up joining in the charades. I can't tell you what we were communicating to each other but I must have done something right because they ended up buying some art before they left. So, before this entertaining pair hopped on the train, one guy asked if he could get a picture with me and the art he bought. How cute is that?

So, as you can see, I've enjoyed myself. Truth be told, I try to enjoy myself where ever I'm at in life. I try. Well.....unless my car breaks down in the middle of nowhere in the freezing cold. Then I can't say I enjoy myself much.

So, I've shared some of the positive things about having the shop but one of the disadvantages was that I really never had time to create my own art and I've missed that terribly. I'm planning on getting back into making new creative lovelies for my website and doing more in the blog world.

I will keep you posted on what's to come.
